Polar Clock

Polar Clock

I have added a download section to the blog today, which obviously enough will feature recommended downloads. So without further a due here is my first recommendation.

Polar Clock is a neat little screensaver from pixelbreaker, it’s currently available for both Mac and PC (and as mac dashboard widget). Essentially it’s just a clock but it has a unique elegant visual style which really appealed to me.

Be sure to check it out (the site has a flash version to preview), worth a download if you are after a new screensaver.

Daily Lit

Daily Lit

Recently a friend recommended an interesting little website, DailyLit is a simple site which through the power of email (and RSS) you can read a book of your choice. The site has a simple clean look and it just requires you to choose a book from the somewhat small selection, and sign up via email or rss, and then each day you will receive a chapter or section of that book.

The idea behind the site is that those that find themselves lacking the time to sit down and read and commit to a book can have it in easy daily chunks, and although the site is still ironing out some copyright issues to make more books available it seems like an interesting idea worth keeping an eye.

Check it out.

Don’t Click This!

Don’t Click This!

While using stumbleupon earlier today I stumbled across this website: Don’tClickIt. The site is simple but interesting and questions the ideas behind clicking on the web and explores alternatives including various mouse-over gestures. The site also includes a handful of stats on how many visitors clicked while using the page, and it’s high! An interesting look at web usage, be sure to give it a read, but don’t click!

Possible sale of Vista Talk UK

Possible sale of Vista Talk UK

Vista Talk UK is a UK based forum for discussion on Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows Vista.

I first opened Vista Talk UK back in November of last year but never really gave it much attention, over time the forum has grown, and with a little promotion now has over 200 hundred members. Unfortunately I suspect half of said members are not genuine and are merely bots. The forum has little content, but I believe the domain and the few genuine members may be of worth, especially if sold to the right buyer.

Due to other projects such as Webmaster Play, Halo Three UK, and more I have decided it is time to sell on the forum. If you are interested in owning a Vista forum with a premium UK discussion based domain then feel free to contact me for more details.

TylerCruz.com – Blog Review

TylerCruz.com – Blog Review

For my first review I decided to take a look at a blog which I myself have been reading for some time.

Tyler Cruz’s blog revolves around his internet entrepreneur life and his antics online. I have been reading his blog for over a year now, and recently subscribed to the RSS feed on offer. What first attracted me to his blog was it’s down to earth and honest writing style when approaching such topics as buying and selling domains, big blogging and of course making money online. Unfortunately recently the blog seems to have moved away somewhat from the more personal posts and now seems more concentrated on reviewing and monetization and now features more than one poster, removing that personal touch, but of course we all need to make progress, and Tyler has done so fast with his blog and I commend that. Those of you who decide to take a visit can expect posts on such topics as making money online, statistics, domains and more.

A really interesting blog detailing the goings on of a true internet entrepreneur, check it out:

WebmasterPlay

WebmasterPlay

Having been working in the online space for a few years now I have always been interested in visiting webmaster forums, learning new things, seeing whats new and so on. I first started online covering one of my main passions; videogames.

So late last year I decided to try my hand at creating a webmaster forum exclusively for gaming webmasters, sure the idea isn’t fresh, but the current offering are clearly lacking. Unfortunately due to several reasons, mainly due to other projects and a lack of time I never started work on the idea despite having plans, and designs in place. Recently work has began on the project and is currently being worked on, I have obtained the .net and .com extension but I have nothing to show at the minute bar a boring frontpage!

Keep an eye on WebmasterPlay as hopefully upon completion it will be far more than just another webmaster forum. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

Home & Dry

Home & Dry

Finally got back to Lincoln yesterday after visiting various folks, and struggling with the National Rail. Fortunately despite all the flood warnings from all the rain Lincolnshire has had, home hasn’t been affected, which I’m glad for.

Anyway enough about the weather, here are a few pictures from the Wireless Festival as promised! (Click to enlarge)

More regular updates on the way!

Wireless Festival

Wireless Festival

Tomorrow I make the journey down to London to go the 3rd ‘Wireless Festival’ in Hyde Park. It’s a bit of an early start, but the journey will be worth it!

I will be going for two days and seeing such bands as Queens Of The Stone Age, The White Stripes, Daft Punk, CSS and many more. While I’m away having fun why not check out my music taste on Last.Fm, its a great site (which has recently been bought out by CBS) which tracks your music tastes. Like your very own hit parade!

See you all soon!
